RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH SYMPRO, INC. FOR THE PURCHASE, INSTALLATION, SERVICE AND ANNUAL MAINTENANCE OF

TREASURY MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE IN THE TREASURER'S OFFICE

RESOLUTION #02-002

WHEREAS, the 2002 capital budget for the Treasurer's Office includes $49,000 for investment software and support; and

WHEREAS, the Treasurer has reviewed and tested the two most used specialized investment software packages as identified by the Government Finance Officers Association's Public Investor as well as the current provider of this service; and

WHEREAS, proposals were solicited from two of these three leading treasury management software companies; and

WHEREAS, the capabilities of the software provided by these two companies is similar in function; and

WHEREAS, the proposal from Sympo, Inc. has a lower annual maintenance and support fee and is a perpetual license whereas the license from Sungard Treasury Systems is 5 years; and

WHEREAS, the County Treasurer is recommending that Sympro, Inc. be selected as the vendor for the purchase, installation, and service of the investment software; and

WHEREAS, the County Controller, County Purchasing Department, and County MIS Department support the recommendation.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes an agreement with SymPro, Inc. for the purchase, installation, and service of the treasury management software.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the amount of the contract is not to exceed $49,000.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson and County Clerk are authorized to sign a contract with SymPro, Inc. upon the recommendation of the County Controller and approval as to form by the County Attorney.
